It's a Howa 1500. It's also been sold in the US as the Mossberg 1500, the S&W 1500 and with some minor cosmetic changes is currently sold as the Weatherby Vanguard. The Smith and Wesson.30-06 Model 1500 has a value of around $500 USD. Made by Howa of Japan. It is beautiful, a very good rifle and dependable. Can anyone help identify the year of manufacture and any significant details concerning two revolvers? Serial numbers are N65231. and N75527. Thanks for your help. I am new to this forum and will soon be a new Smith owner - after I figure out what revolver I am buying.

Maryland Militia ModelVariation is nickel-plated, has 6.5' barrel and chambered for .44 S&W Russian cartridge. Butt stamped 'U.S.' and inspector's marks 'HN' and 'DAL' under date 1878 appear on revolver. There were 280 manufactured between serial numbers 7126 and 7405. NOTE: Rarity makes valuation speculative.

Essentially not a factory contract, but a sale through Schuyler, Hartley and Graham. They are stamped 'Ejercito/Argentino' in front of trigger guard. Order amounted to some 2,000 revolvers between serial numbers 50 and 3400.

This variation is nickel-plated and chambered for .44 S&W Russian cartridge. Marked with Australian Colonial Police Broad Arrow on the butt. There were 250 manufactured with 7' barrels and detachable shoulder stocks. Stock has Broad Arrow stamped on lower tang. There were also 30 manufactured with 6.5' barrels, without the stocks. They all are numbered in 12000-13000 serial range.

Essentially the New Model No. 3 chambered for .44 rimfire Henry cartridge. Stamped with letters 'P', 'U' and 'AFC' on various parts of the revolver. Barrels are all 6.5'; finish blued, with walnut grips. Lanyard swivels are found on the butt. There were 5,461 manufactured. Serial numbered in their own range starting at 1 through 5461, between 1879 and 1883.
